The captain and first officer of the U.S.S Enterprise have embarked on yet another out of this world mission.

The SETI Institute has set up a website for residents of Earth and any other planets to vote on new names for two of Pluto's moons.

Now, William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy are urging Star Trek fans to vote for the name "Vulcan."

Vulcan is the fictional planet where Nimoy's Mister Spock character is from.

It's also the Roman god of fire and smoke.

The Trek connection seems to be working, at last check Vulcan was far head of the second-place name, Cerberus.

SETI stands for the Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence.
