The last live-action “Star Trek” series to air on television will be released in high-definition for home video viewers in 2013.

“Star Trek: Enterprise” was the last “Star Trek” series to air on television, on the now-defunct United Paramount Network from 2001 to 2005. It was later released on DVD, but will be seeing a high-definition release this year.

Season 1 will be released later this year, and currently has a date of March the 26th. Season 1 of “Enterprise” had 25 episodes.

Aside from enhanced video and sound, the release promises new extra content for fans. An all-new three-part retrospective documentary will chronicle the first season of the show, from development to casting and more. New audio commentaries and deleted scenes will round out the extras.

The third season of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” is also set for a high-definition release in 2013, with completely remastered video and sound, along with new extras.
