Dothan, AL - The Spring Furfest was held Saturday to benefit Felines Under Rescue, or FUR.

This group has been helping keep down the local cat population in the Wiregrass for nearly a decade.

Fundraisers like this festival help fund their outreach. Festival goers could browse through antique booths, collectibles, art and homemade goodies.

"Spay and neuter is the only humane way to help control the overpopulation of homeless, stray cats and dogs. The high rate of euthanasia in Alabama is unbelievable," Barbara Seaman, Felines Under Rescue.

FUR works directly with the the low-cost Wiregrass Spay and Neuter Alliance.
