Authorities say an 18-wheeler at Loop 410 and I-37 burst into flames Tuesday morning.
The accident was called in shortly after 11 a.m. for the far southeast side.
Heavy traffic made access difficult for emergency crews dispatched to Loop 410 at the I-37 connector ramp. But by noon the flames had been extinguished.
Extra fire units were called to the scene to haul water since the fire was in an area without fire hydrants.
The rig was separated safely from its trailer where the fire reportedly started and the driver was uninjured.
