Police Seize 75 Pounds of Marijuana in North Ala.

BOAZ, Ala. (AP) -- Police in northern Alabama have seized 75 pounds of marijuana and charged three people with drug trafficking.

Authorities say police were called to a home in Boaz Tuesday night after receiving a call about a possible residential burglary. Officials say responding officers smelled marijuana when they arrived on the scene.

Police knocked on the door and say the smell became stronger when a 19-year-old woman opened the door.

Police say the woman consented to a property search and officials found 75 pounds of marijuana stashed in a duffel bag inside the bedroom.

Officials say the woman and two Texas men in their 20s were taken into custody. Their identities have not yet been released.

Boaz is about 55 miles southeast of Huntsville.
