The first of eleven constitutional amendments that will be on the 2012 Alabama ballot involve payments for land preservation.
Amendment one would extend payments made to the "Forever Wild" land preservation program through the end of Fiscal Year 2032.
The "Forever Wild" organization has, in the past, purchased lands for recreation, wildlife and other purposes.
It's backed by Senator Dick Brewbaker, a Republican. A group calling themselves “Not Forever Wild” opposes the measure on the grounds of what it calls “fiscal sanity.”
