Layoffs are still a question at Fort Rucker. In October, the post announced it will train fewer aviation soldiers in 2014.
The decision is a result of budget cuts from the Department of Army. AFS is a contractor for Fort Rucker. Officials say that is who is looking at cuts on post. At this time, Fort Rucker has not heard any news from AFS.
Post Officials are sticking with their original statement from October which said Fort Rucker will see a budget decrement of $138-million.
That number means the amount of aviation soldiers they train will be cut by almost 20 percent.
