The head of the National Rifle Association apparently wasn't a fan of President Obama's second inaugural speech.
During an event in Nevada late Tuesday, Wayne LaPierre criticized the president's address saying Mr. Obama tried to paint fervent believers of the Second Amendment as extremists.
LaPierre says the Constitution makes one's right to bare arms absolute and unchangeable, but Mr. Obama doesn't think so...
Hinting at the president's proposed ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
“Barack Obama is saying that the only principled way to make children safe is to make lawful citizens less safe and violent criminals more safe,” LaPierre.
President Obama's gun control initiative also calls for universal background checks for gun owners.
Opponents, led by the National Rifle Association, are promising a political fight against any gun control measures that violate the constitutional right to bear arms.
