Nearly a mile and a half of South Main Street from the bridge to King Street in Headland is being repaved.
It will be down-sized from a 4-lane road to a 2-lane road and bike lanes will be added on both sides.
Headland officials say the project will fix a big pot-hole problem.
The project will start at the beginning of next year.
It's expected to take about 45 days to complete.
