OZARK -- Carroll High School students and faculty are doing their best to heal after losing a dear friend and classmate, Christian Markoff.

Students said that they will remember Markoff for his silly personality and loyalty to everyone he loved.

"Even through everything that I've been through, middle school, he was always there," classmate and friend Kelsey Kicklighter said. "He never gave up, he never walked away. He was always there to talk to me if I needed him."

On Tuesday, the student body chose to wear the color green, Markoff's favorite color. The whole Carroll High School family is banning together in an attempt to heal.

"I'm going to miss him, that's for certain," longtime friend Caleab Bracewell said. "It's not going to be the same on graduation, in ten years from now, the reunion, coming back and he's not here, it's going to be a lot different."

If anyone would like to donate money in his memory, accounts are set up at both the Commercial Bank of Ozark and the Wells Fargo Bank in Ozark.

They will continue to honor his memory on Tuesday evening at the Southside Baptist Church at 7:00 p.m. All are welcome.

The information for the Commercial Bank is 208 South Merrick Avenue, P.O. Box 1029, Ozark, AL 36361.

The information for Wells Fargo is under Juliaetta McGowan. If a person goes to the Wells Fargo Bank at 293 Andrews Ave. in Ozark, they can ask for the money to be deposited under that name for the memorial fund account.

Markoff was shot and killed Sunday night on Yancey Street. 18 year old Quashawn Knight and a 15 year old juvenile are now charged with murder.
