MELBOURNE, Fla. (AP) -- Jurors have recommended that a central Florida man spend the rest of his life in prison for killing his estranged wife and a man she was living with.

The Brevard County jury made its recommendation Tuesday.

The same panel convicted 41-year-old Patrick Wharen Sr. last week on two counts of first-degree murder.

A judge will likely follow the jury's recommendation at a Thursday hearing.

Florida Today reports that Wharen had been facing a possible death sentence.

Authorities say Wharen fatally shot 34-year-old Kelly Wharen and 19-year-old Jonathon Vuick during a confrontation at Kelly Wharen and Vuick's home in April 2008.
