Two Jackson County residents are facing multiple drug charges.

Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home on New Hope Road Friday night.

Krystal Hunter and Ronald Grant III were at the home with a two year old child.

Officers found remnants of methamphetamine being cooked in a plastic bottle. The home was evacuated for safety purposes and both Grant and Hunter were detained.

The Jackson County Drug Task Force responded to the scene to process the hazardous materials.

During a search of the remainder of the home, another bottle was located that is believed to have been used to manufacture methamphetamine.

Also discovered were numerous precursor items used to make meth, less than 20 grams of marijuana, and a glass pipe used to ingest methamphetamine.

Hunter and Grant were arrested and booked in the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance. They are charged with attempting to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of marijuana (less than 20 grams) and child abuse.

The child was turned over to the maternal grandmother.
