UPDATE: A missing Jackson County senior has been found safe.

Clark Hughes was reported missing yesterday. His wife said Hughes told her he was going to visit a relative who died years ago.

Hughes was found in Franklin County. He was unharmed and taken back home.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office received a report of a missing elderly adult Sunday at 12:32 pm. Shortly after, Deputies made contact with the victim’s wife where she advised them that her husband had departed the area in his pick-up truck, and that he currently suffers from dementia, and possibly the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease.

Deputies learned that the elderly white male was 81-year-old Clark M. Hughes. Hughes is described as 5’-10” in height, 180 lbs, small build, with white or grey short hair. Hughes is known to walk with a walking cane.

The victim’s wife stated that Hughes made the statement that he was leaving to go and make contact with a relative whom has been deceased for a number of years. Hughes departed his residence in Marianna, driving Silver in color, 2010 Ford Ranger, in an unknown direction of travel. The vehicle has a red in color camper shell attached to the bed of the truck and was bearing Florida tag Y7EEC.

Any contact with Mr. Hughes please call the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office at 850-482-9648 or the nearest local law enforcement agency.
