When the Strawn brothers of Jefferson, Iowa, were growing up, they were bitten by “the bug.”

For them, it was almost the perfect car!

But there's only one problem with a beetle.

It's small.

So when the guys from Jefferson grew up, they decided their bug needed to too.

A generation of Americans grew up in a German back seat.

Circus performers call 'em 'clown-haulers' and on the street, they're 'slug bugs'.

This one's worthy of a roundhouse.

A street-legal bug that towers over traffic and draws a double take on every corner.

Kirk Strawn and his brother Erik grew up on VWs.

So when a grown-up idea struck, they bought an airport fire truck chassis. Hired a teenage welder--and hooked up a tractor engine.

Creating big red, named after its former life. It's big enough to haul dozens of clowns by day. But when the sun drops--

The real show begins.

LED lights are synced to the music blaring from its speakers.
