Applause rang through the Geneva County Court House after administrators announced they will do everything in their power to keep the Wiregrass Medical Center open.

Close to 100 residents attended the Tuesday, April 1 meeting to find out the latest hospital update.

Since September 2013, the hospital has gone through a series of cuts in services and staff. However, the hospital isn’t in the clear just yet.

During the question and answer session of the meeting, residents raised concerns about staff, lack of new doctors in the area and issues with insurance. Despite some of the complaints, many residents expressed their gratitude to hospital board members for keeping the facility opened.
