Landmark Park welcomed the sweet smell of honey Saturday morning...
The park, along with The Wiregrass Beekeepers and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System held a workshop for making honey.
The public was invited to the free event and help extract honey from the hives.
The honey extracted during the event was bottled and offered for sale. Beekeepers say the workshop gives people a better appreciation of the honeybee.
“One teaspoon of honey is the lifework of twelve bees and you think of that-just one little spoon, twelve bees and that's pretty impressive," says Roslyn Horton.
One pint of honey from Saturday's event was available for $8 and a quart for $15.
