90 local kids and their parents have a lot to smile about.

Saturday Houston County's HIPPY program held it's end of the year awards ceremony.

The HIPPY program promotes school readiness by working with research based age appropriate curriculum.

The work is delivered to parents at home who have 3, 4 and 5 year old children.

"It's our last hooray for the year and it's been a great process to see how much these kids have grown over the course of 30 weeks in our program," said HIPPY Program Coordinator Collins Trott.

The HIPPY program helps prepare both children and parents for the expectations of Kindergarten.

It also gives them a solid foundation to begin their educational career.
