Gun control is on the floor of the Alabama State Senate.
But instead of tightening restrictions, legislators were deciding whether or not to ease up on state laws.
The bill, proposed by Senator Scott Beason, would allow anyone to keep a gun locked in their car while on the job.
If passed, the bill would require a life time permit in order to store the gun in their vehicle.
The Business Council of Alabama and some sheriffs don't agree.
The National Rifle Association however is backing the legislation.
