FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- A Florida Panhandle woman has been sentenced to four years in prison, followed by two years of house arrest, for a DUI crash that left her passenger dead.

An Okaloosa County judge sentenced Franziska Schroff on Tuesday. She had previously been sentenced to 30 months in prison, but prosecutors appealed, arguing that DUI manslaughter carries a state-dictated minimum sentence of four years. The appeals court agreed.

Authorities say Schroff was only 20 years old in October 2010 when veered off a road and hit a utility pole. Her co-worker, 22-year-old Robyn Jade Rogers, was killed in the crash.

The Northwest Florida Daily News reports that Schroff had a blood-alcohol level of 0.154 percent. Florida law considers a driver impaired at 0.08.
