A food truck is a rare site to see in Downtown Dothan, but on Thursday night, one rolled onto North Foster Street with a mission.
Between 5 and 7 p.m. the Wind Creek Hospitality Food Truck opened its kitchen to area residents by serving smoked chicken, baked beans and roasted corn.
Over 200 community members came out to the food truck. Although many were wary about the food coming from a truck, they all agreed that the food was delicious and a kind reminder that people care about each other.
Thursday night’s stop in Dothan was the first time the Wind Creek used the custom made truck. Over the weekend it will be set up at the Houston County Farm Center for the 9th Annual Tri-State BBQ Festival.
The ‘Good to Go’ food truck will continue to make stops all over Alabama to feed those in need. You can follow the truck on twitter @TasteWindCreek and @#Goodtogo.
