Senator Marco Rubio of Florida is in the Middle East.
He's on a weeklong trip to Israel and Jordan.
The Republican lawmaker is expecting to meet with Israeli and Palestinian leaders.
He's planning to speak with the Israeli leaders about the peace process with Palestinians and Egypt.
Rubio will also meet with King Abdullah in Jordan.
This trip comes days after he delivered the Republican response to President Barack Obama's State of the Union address on Tuesday.
Rubio serves on the Senate Intelligence and Foreign Relations committees.
He said his wife would accompany him on the trip but not at taxpayer expense.
