It is the first day of summer and if you want to keep cool while you exercise, hoping in the pool may be a good idea.
Aquacise classes are already underway in Dothan. The classes are designed to get you up, moving and socializing with the benefit of water taking pressure off your joints.
Aquacise is open to everyone ages 15 and older. Classes are held three times a week for six weeks, the entire course costs only $20.
“I have joint problems and when I came to my first class I hopped in with a stick and went out and didn’t the cane the first time,” said Annie Newsome, Aquacise participant.
The City of Dothan offers Aquacise at Westgate indoor pool all year long and at the Wiregrass outside pool and Walton outdoor pool during the summer.
