For four weeks, Northview and Dothan high students were put to the test; a test see if they could manage having cell phones in school.
Turns out they did and could again this fall, thanks to the Dothan School Board.
The ultimate decision of whether or not to allow cell phones in school will still be up to the principals.
The board says tonight, they made a policy to allow, not a policy that says they have to.
Superintendent Tim Wilder pointed out that having the phones in hand can actually be a learning tool.
Students would only be allowed to use them during non-instructional time.
