On Saturday, May 10th the Dothan Police Department made a felony arrest after responding to the area of West Newton Street and Montezuma Avenue, in reference to a crime in progress.
Investigator say an alert citizen observed Nelson Luciano breaking into a passenger vehicle in the 400 block of Montezuma Avenue and contacted the police. Upon the arrival of the first officer, contact was made with Luciano who was in possession of multiple items taken from the vehicle. Through further investigation, Luciano was found to be in possession of tools and other items taken from a nearby office building which had also been burglarized.
Luciano was taken into custody, and while being searched, he was found to be in possession of prescription medication which did not belong to him.
25-year-old Nelson Juner Luciano of West Main Street was arrested and charged with third degree Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bonds have been set and total $60,000.00.
All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
