(Dothan, AL)-- A new batting cage is in the works for Dothan High School. Dothan City School board members met on Monday to discuss the plans, but they have concerns about the budget.
"We might not be able to use the batting cage by next year, but we'll at least have conversations to to get the ball rolling," Dothan High School Principal Stan Eldridge said.
According to developers, the total cost for the project is around $693,000. Metal siding and stucco are a few of the options board members are looking at, however developers say they won't last long.
"We're hoping board members will choose the best option for our students," Dothan High School Principal Stan Eldridge said. "We might not be able to use the batting cage by next year, but we'll at least have conversations to to get the ball rolling," he said.
Construction on the batting cages could take up to five months. The board will reach a decision next Monday.
