Arts and crafts, field trips, swimming and games are just a small sample of the activities children will enjoy this summer as participants in the Department of Leisure Services Camp Choctaw.
This Day Camp is for boys and girls ages 6-12 who are looking for fun and interesting ways to keep themselves busy this summer. The camps are held in two-week sessions at Doug Tew Recreation Center.
Due to renovations at Doug Tew, registration will be on Tuesday, May 6 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Wiregrass Recreation Center (620 Sixth Avenue; Dothan, AL 36301) only! Registration will continue for available slots beginning May 7 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at Walton Park Recrreation Center (122 Walton Park Drive; Dothan, AL 36303) only (the secretary for Doug Tew has been relocated to Walton Park until renovations at Doug Tew are complete. Each session is limited to 75 campers and registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. You may sign up for as many sessions as you would like. Registration fees for all sessions must be paid at the time of registration (cash or check only). Renovations at Doug Tew will be completed by the time Camp Choctaw starts, so Camp Choctaw will be held at Doug Tew as usual.
No telephone registrations will be accepted unless it is for a waiting list. If you are a first time camper, you must provide a birth certificate when you register.
The registration fee for a two-week session is $80.00 and includes all supplies, a camp t-shirt, transportation from designated locations and daily snacks. There will be four two-week sessions from which to choose.
The two-week sessions meet Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Bus transportation will be provided from various pick-up points around the city. These pick-up locations will vary from session to session.
