You have probably have seen them at pools and water parks, watching from above while you splash around.
We are talking about lifeguards.
And many people all they do is sit around.
But they say they do so much more.
Lifeguards at Water World say the park can have thousands of guests a day, so they have to constantly aware of their surroundings and have a watchful eye.
"It is kind of scary sometimes because 3000 people at the park some days so you are constantly focused so if you lose focus for one second things can go bad," said Devon Dye, lifeguard at Water World.
Many of the lifeguards are high school students who say they plan to be lifeguards again next summer.
