Daleville residents took a stand against crime on Tuesday evening at the city's second annual National Night Out.

Residents enjoyed inflatables, sprinklers and sno-cones for free, all while getting to know area law enforcement officials. Organizers say events like these are vital to helping the community stay safe. It also helps residents feel connected to area law enforcement.

"Tthe city of Daleville and and our surrounding areas are working together as one," explained Daleville Department of Public Safety Chief Harvey Matthis. "We are not police, law enforcement and the community is separate, we're all one. and they get a chance to meet our officers and see what we do and just have a good time together."

Due to the success of Tuesday's National Night Out, organizers say that it will return to Culpepper Park next year.
