Boeing 787 Makes Emergency Landing in Japan

A Boeing 787 made an emergency landing Wednesday, January 16, at Takamatsu Airport in western Japan. The emergency landing was made after smoke appeared in the cabin.

In a statement the FAA said this incident will be included in an ongoing investigation of Boeing 787 "critical systems, including design, manufacture and assembly."

Boeing also released a statement: "Boeing is aware of the diversion of a 787 operated by ANA to Takamatsu in western Japan. We will be working with our customer and the appropriate regulatory agencies."
