MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. (AP) -- The skies will be a bit more crowded -- and noisier -- over Moody Air Force Base for the next few days.

The south Georgia base near Valdosta will be hosting a joint training exercise for airmen and Army special operations troops starting Sunday and ending Friday.

Joining elite Army Rangers from Fort Benning will be special operations helicopter crews from the Army's 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment from Fort Campbell, Ky. Moody's own 820th Base Defense Group will join the exercise, as will the Air Force Special Operations Command from Hurlburt Field, Fla.

Base officials say expect low-flying helicopters and planes -- including training flights at night -- and possibly noise from training ammunition used in mock firefights.

The training is a routine readiness exercise used by the military.
