FORT RUCKER -- As Command Sergeant Major Richard Stidley bids farewell to the U.S. Army Combat Readiness/Safety Center after two and a half years of service, he said Command Sergeant Major Leeford Cain is ready for the job.
"Just hang on because it's going to be an exciting job and it's really busy," Stidley said.
CSM Cain has served the U.S. Army for thirty years. As a leader at the center, he will help with the overall driving force, risk management and soldier safety.
"To continue to preserve the army's greatest resource which are our soldiers," Cain said.
During a Change of Responsibility and Retirement Ceremony at Fort Rucker on Friday morning, responsibility for the center was transferred from Stidley to Cain.
Stidley is hanging up his uniform after nearly 35 years of service to this country.
He said he will have to find a new hobby but is excited to spend more time with his beloved wife and their three daughters.
