Readers of News 4’s website had a lot to say about a collection of entertainment stories on our site throughout the previous week involving out-of-this world adventures with aliens, ponies, and a wacky set of siblings.
The twentieth-anniversary of “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” the third live-action series in the “Star Trek” franchise was earlier in January. On our website, user “SouthernPatriot “ pointed out that all of the “Star Trek” series are available on Netflix and called them a “Great alternative to the brain-dead reality shows.”
“My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” is known not only for its appeal to young girls, but also a large audience of teenagers and adults, some of whom call themselves Bronies. In an online poll on TV.com, it dominated the “Best Animated Series of 2012” with just over 5 million votes. On our website, a user by the name of “Rainbow Dash is Best Pony” commented, “With WTVY as our flagship, the world will learn the greatness of PONY!”
And, another animated series made news by returning to cable television. While not new episodes, repeats of classic episodes of the 90s hit “Animaniacs” began airing on the Hub in January. On our website, user “Phbbt” commented, “I am so excited about the Animaniacs coming to the Hub! This one of the shows that made me laugh when I was growing up and I have lots of fond memories.”
