Ozark, AL --- After a conversation at their 20 year class reunion, members of the Carroll High School class of 1988 decided to do what they could to help their former high school.
On Saturday, the class held a benefit concert at the Ozark Civic Center in hopes of raising as much money as possible. They said they also hope to create a desire from other classes and the community to make this an annual event.
"We hope that it somehow ignites an annual type of activity similar to this when we could all get together to really support Carroll High School and get us back on the map," Coordinator James Simmons said.
Although the school has recently undergone renovations, there are still necessary installments that need to be made to the gymnasium before CHS can host volleyball and basketball tournaments.
Additional seating and water sprinklers must be installed before any tournaments take place.
