TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- An Alabama health system is joining those who have banned the use of tobacco on its campuses.
The DCH Health System is banning smoking at the DCH Regional Medical Center, the Northpoint Medical Center, the Fayette Medical Center and the Pickens County Medical Center.
Reports say the health system is trying to lead an effort to improve the health of the people in the communities it serves.
All visitors, patients, volunteers and employees will be banned from smoking or using any kind of tobacco product on DCH property.
Kindred says the hospital system has a responsibility to eliminate health hazards and promote healthy lifestyle choices.
