Funeral Services Set for Two Wiregrass Soldier

Funeral services have been arranged for two army soldiers with local ties.

23-year-old Sergeant Edmund Jeffers of Daleville was killed last week in Iraq.

He was assigned to the 1st battalion, 9th infantry regiment, 2nd brigade combat team at Fort Carson in Colorado.

He was on his second tour in Iraq.

Funeral services for Jeffers will be this Saturday morning at 11 at Patterson Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise.

Burial will be in the Daleville memorial gardens.

33-year-old David Michael Stanley of Clarksville, Tennessee went through flight school at Fort Rucker and married a woman from Pike County.

He was killed on September 11th in a plane crash in Huntsville.

Funeral services for Sergeant Stanley will also be on Saturday at 2 pm from the Patterson Sorrells Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Arlington National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday night from 6 until 8.
