Brundidge Man Arrested for Murder

A Pike County man has been charged with murder following an alcohol-related traffic mishap that killed his sister.

Alabama State Troopers arrested 42-year-old Johnny Wesley Jones of Brundidge.

Troopers say on August 11th, Jones was involved in a one-vehicle wreck on Pike County Road 4430, about 5 miles South of Brundidge.

45-year-old Martha Lynn Jones Sommers was a passenger and was killed.

Trooper spokesman Corporal Tracy Nelson says alcohol was involved.
