Patriot Guard Hold 9/11 Ceremony in Dothan

Tuesday was the first 9/11 ceremony held by a group called the Patriot Guard Riders in Dothan.

The Patriot Guard rode through the streets of Dothan to honor first responders who died on 9/11.

Joining them were members of the military and local law enforcement including police, fire and the sheriff’s departments.

The Patriot riders not only honor fallen law enforcement from 9/11 but also soldiers still fighting the War on Terror.

The Patriot Guard also attends the funerals of soldiers for free as a show of respect and performs a circle around the family to protect them from possible war protesters.

“Think its important for the military, fire fighters and law enforcement to know somebody's out there supporting them and backing them up,” said Jimmy Shiver.
