Gov. Jeb Bush says he won’t attend the Republican Party Convention in New York later this month because of the importance of the Hurricane Charley relief and recovery effort.
In the governor's words, "there will be a role later on for me to play." He says post-hurricane recovery is too important to leave, at least for a while.
Bush says he had planned to have a limited role in New York anyway, and that he doesn't really like the national political scene.
