County Commissioners Agree On Road Work

Some Houston County roads will be getting much-needed improvements.

Thursday, County Commissioners agreed to move forward with a resurfacing project on 45-miles of paved roads throughout the county.

The 4.5 million dollar project will include roads that engineers have determined are in the worst condition.

The last major road project of this kind was completed back in the mid 90s.

Houston Co. Commission Chairman Mark Culver said, “What we're planning is to do a bond issue after the first of the year and hopefully the work will start in April or May of next year.”

The project will be voted on during next Monday’s commission meeting.
