A century-old building has sparked a new wave of debate in one Northwest Florida city.
Recently, a 130-thousand dollar renovation project was completed on the Chautaqua Hall in DeFuniak Springs.
Built in 1905, it is listed on the national register of historic places.
At one time, it served as the cultural centerpiece in the panhandle.
The debate is over the new copper gutters and drainage ducts on the outside of the building.
Several members of a local historical society say the original gutters were white.
City officials are looking to find a compromise.
On Monday night, the debate over the Chataqua Hall gutters was discussed during the DeFuniak Springs city council meeting, but no action was taken.
