DUI Crackdown

State, county and local departments say they will be out in full force starting Monday through Labor Day, enforcing their DUI blitz, called “Drunk Driving, Over the Limit, Under Arrest”.

They announced the campaign from the Dothan cemetery to underscore the fact that alcohol related crashes in Alabama are on the increase.

Ten out of seventeen traffic fatalities are a direct result of drivers under the influence.

The main goal of the blitz to is to promote safety on the highways and to reduce the number of deaths from drunken driving crashes.

Law enforcement officials say if you see an impaired driver on the roadway, report them by calling 911.

Thumbs up for the campain, BUT it should be full time. Not just on Holidays. There's some STUPID drivers in Alabama, and Law Enforcement should be 24/7 365 days a year.
