Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Gets Defibrillators

The Jackson County Hospital presented the sheriff's office with eight Automated external Defibrillator.

AED's are portable electronic devices that deliver an electrical shock to a victim suffering cardiac arrest.

The shock helps get the heartbeat back in rhythm.

An AED can save lives in the time it would take an ambulance to arrive.

The AED's will be placed in various patrol cars thought out Jackson County.

Each of the eight devices cost about $10,500 a piece.
