Boswell Found Guilty of a Lesser Offense

A man charged with murder in the highway death of a Pike County toddler has been found guilty of a lesser offense.

Gerald Craig Boswell, 44, was convicted of manslaughter in the death of 21 month old Clay Worsham.

Boswell was also found guilty of assaulting the child's mother.

Tanya Worsham was pushing her son in a stroller along the side of Pike County road 2243 in April of last year when they were allegedly run down by Boswell.

Prosecutors contended Boswell was driving under the influence of prescription drugs at the time of the incident.

Boswell is still being held in the Pike County Jail.

He faces up to 20 years in prison on the manslaughter conviction.
