The school calendar has gotten underway and there is great news for one Wiregrass school district. Coffee County met all their goals as required by the federal No Child Left Behind Act.

The system's enrollment figures have not skyrocketed, but there are 46 more students this year than last year. A larger enrollment will mean more dollars coming from the state to the Coffee County school district.

Superintendent Linda Ingram says the state results of new accountability measures is up in nearly every category for each of the system's four schools. This is the first time that both the schools and the district are receiving status reports, as required by the No Child Left Behind Act.

Because of an increase in local and state funds, the budget for Coffee County schools is more than $1 million over last year's figures.
