An accused killer from Dothan could stand trial early next year.
20-year-old Everett Morton is charged with capital murder in connection with the shooting death of 24-year-old Patrick Dixon.
The shooting happened in April of last year.
Dixon and another man were in a car near the corner of 5th Avenue and Hamilton Street in Dothan when someone opened fire.
Dixon was killed and
The other man was wounded.
Morton was one of three suspects charged with the crime.
Tuesday, District Attorney Doug Valeska said he is ready to go to trial in February.
Judge Lawson Little plans to schedule another pre-trial hearing in the case for November.
