Tyler Road Reopens

A long anticipated transportation project is now complete in central Coffee County.

This stretch of pavement complete with guard rails is part of Tyler Road in New Brockton.

A washout and subsequent sinkhole following Hurricane Ivan in September 2004 caused the highway to be closed for nearly three-years.

After a half-million dollars in repairs, traffic is flowing once again.

This has cut bus travel time for students at both New Brockton Elementary and High Schools.

It took city officials more than two-years to acquire the necessary state dollars to make the repairs to Tyler Road.
