Drugs Found in Inmate's Hair

Houston County officials have made a hair-raising discovery.

Narcotics investigators were called to the jail after learning that an inmate was allegedly hiding the drug ecstasy in his hair.

Twenty ecstasy pills were recovered.

Authorities say 33-year-old Bryon Beachem told deputies he bought the drug in Atlanta and smuggled it into the jail.

He is now charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and promoting prison contraband.

Beachem had been in the jail since last Friday on a child support warrant.

His bond now totals $34,000 dollars.
