One Coffee County city is putting a bite on pet owners who refuse to restrict their pets.
The New Brockton town council has increased penalties for anyone who violates the city's leash law.
For a first time offense, the fine will be $25.
A second offense moves to $50, and a third is $75.
Four or more violations can cost you a $500 fine and possible jail time.
Council members say they've received numerous complaints from homeowners who fear of taking a walk due to the number of dogs roaming neighborhoods.
