A body was discovered Monday floating in the gulf off the shores of Panama City Beach.
It’s the first drowning there in nearly two-months.
Sheriff’s department deputies say the body of 22-year-old Christopher Lee Porter of Bay County was found in the water around 8 a.m. Monday morning behind the Regency Towers Condominiums on Thomas Drive.
Emergency workers tried to revive Porter, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Although no foul play is suspected, investigators are awaiting toxicology results from the medical examiner’s office.
