JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Jacksonville police are remaining quiet on whether the death of a 12-year-old boy was a homicide, an accidental shooting or if he killed himself.
Anthony "Tony" Youmans died from a single gunshot wound, but police are giving few other details. Tony's body was found Tuesday, two days after he was reported missing.
The stepfather of Youmans' best friend was arrested on a felony charge of giving a gun to a child. It's not clear, though, if Derrick Glover gave the boy the gun or if police consider Glover a suspect in the death.
Police don't think there is anyone at large that is a threat to the community.
Jail records show that Glover is being held Thursday in the Duval County Jail on $100,000 bail and his next court appearance is August 22nd.
The boy's parents say they don't believe the death was an accident and vow to help find the killer.
